ICSE and ISC syllabus, chapter by chapter

Both are set by CISCE, and they are two different courses: ICSE is examined at the end of Class 10, ISC at the end of Class 12. ICSE splits Physics, Chemistry and Biology into three separate papers where CBSE has one Science paper, which is why an ICSE plan has more subjects in it than a CBSE plan of the same year. ISC sits alongside JEE and NEET for most science students, and its Physics and Chemistry papers go deeper than the NCERT course in several units — ISC Class 11 Kinematics is taught with calculus, which the NCERT course does not do. Two more places CISCE goes its own way, both listed in full below: ISC Computer Science is taught in Java, not the Python of the CBSE course, and ISC teaches Circles as a chapter apart from Conic Sections.

330 chapters in total — 22 in Physics (ICSE), 21 in Chemistry (ICSE), 30 in Biology (ICSE), 39 in Mathematics (ICSE), 32 in History & Civics (ICSE), 28 in Geography (ICSE), 16 in English (ICSE), 27 in Physics (ISC), 19 in Chemistry (ISC), 26 in Mathematics (ISC), 32 in Biology (ISC), 22 in Computer Science (ISC), 16 in English (ISC).

The weight column is how much study time CapCompass reserves for a chapter. For ISC it follows the marks CISCE publishes for each unit, shared out across the chapters inside that unit. For ICSE the council publishes no per-chapter weightage — only 80 marks for the paper and 20 for internal assessment — so those weights are CapCompass's own reading of the syllabus.
